My name is Dana Aftyka, Dana Artyka is clever my art alias. I am a traditional fine artist concentrating on painting. I am a graduate of Western Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree in Studio Arts: Painting.

Art is my passion and I’ve been running my small business since 2019. I have a full-time job where I work alternating overnight shifts and I spend the rest of my time creating and selling art, writing blog posts and making videos. My dream is to turn art into a full-time career. I make Personalized Pet Portraits, Commissions, Original Artwork, Prints, Hand Painted ornaments and much more.

Some fun facts about myself
  • My preferred medium is acrylic paint, but I love experimenting with different mediums.
  • I love cats and capture their internal beauty and essence in my pet portraits.
  • I am fascinated with reflections and the perspective they create. I capture the mystery and unknown of the distortion that is a reflection.
  • I enjoy working in all sizes but prefer using smaller surfaces because it feels more personal.
  • I look forward to expanding my skills and pushing my abilities to create art.
